Grace.

It’s been a quite week friends….construction and merging at the market along with keeping business functioning, daughters birthday and crazy life situations…..It’s been a week unlike any others.

Today for the second time in 48 hours, I wrote a catering order down wrong.

No one is to blame except for me and my inability to put things into the calendar correctly. 🤦‍♀️
But two catering orders got messed up and it’s all my fault.

This morning, there was nothing but Grace given to me from the recipient of the order—- fulfilled just very late.

We’re all human we all make mistakes and I’m reminded yet again about how powerful Grace truly is….. and as I hop back I. The van I see the giant sign.

This sign is currently living in the back of my van since it’s so heavy and I’m so glad OSHA wasn’t around when they watched us take it down last week … We got pretty creative just saying.

But it’s a reminder to me this morning about the beautiful blessing that is grace and community . We wouldn’t be where we are without incredible people who’ve surrounded us.

Might I encourage you this Monday?
Give people the benefit of the doubt you never know where they’re coming from. Happy Monday!

POTATO.

Last night, we were weighing bowls full of potatoes. WHY?

Let me explain.

Tomorrow, my oldest turns F O U R T E E N. So naturally, the dinner conversation surrounds the upcoming milestone. If you're new around here, you might not know that I think birthdays are MAJOR life events. Because EVERYONE deserves to be loved and valued simply for WHO you are. End of story. Birthdays are big.

The girls got to asking questions about their own births--- and birth weights: Enter potatoes.

Nate genuisly started to weigh them out; so they could compare how heavy they were at the start.

And it doesn't take much imagination to deduce the types of questions that followed from my budding crew about birth last night. Dinner was INTERESTING.

Naturally, the conversation turned toward weight. Healthy weights, realistic weights--- and genetically speaking, weight is an issue on both sides of our family.

I learned something shocking last night about my oldest. Over 3 years ago the doctor mentioned she might want to keep an eye on her weight. It was an innocent comment-- more about how growth changes into teen years-- not in any way body shaming. I was present at this appointment-- and didn't think anything about it.

BUT Aunnica did. Colossally so. I had no idea the depth of the impact. And with upcoming well checks and conversations about weight at the dinner table-- this narrative came to light.

So I told Aunnica the truth: her mind is lying to her. She has to rewrite the script. She need not fear comments others say. Other's opinions DO NOT dictate your truth. I had her repeat the truths with me.

But this is easier said than done.

The battle that wages in the mind is never-ending.

Might I encourage you this Friday friends?
Wage war with your mind. SPEAK TRUTH to your mind. Don't let others' opinions dictate what you know is true. You are LOVED and VALUED so much more than you can ever know.

Gotta give a shout out to Lil Donut Factory!

Our muffin man malfunctioned— but seriously tho, found out yesterday we can’t get muffins til maybe Saturday …. And I was like - I need more pastries for the wall.

So what did I do? Shout out to Bekah at LDF that’s what and they hooked us up. (And we’ll have them Friday & Saturday too— whoop!)

We’re better together. Simply facts.

And I really do want to figure out how to keep this sign…. I mean, the construction vibes 👌👌👌
